We are a remote-first team. Where you choose to work is up to you. We have an office in Abu Dhabi that you can utilize as often or little as you'd like.

We are looking for a Cybersecurity Lead to join our remote team. At Sarwa you will drive the implementation and operation of our security initiatives. You'll be a critical member of our founding Security Team, leading projects that strengthen our defenses, deploying and configuring tools, and ensuring our controls remain effective over time.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, resourceful, and passionate about building a strong security foundation in a fast-growing company.

Responsibilities - What You’ll Do

• Own security projects from start to finish (examples: deploying an email security gateway, rolling out a SIEM, implementing EDR, hardening IAM, improving logging/monitoring).
• Configure and integrate security tools with our cloud (AWS, Kubernetes, GWS) environment.
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers to embed security controls into infrastructure.
• Run recurring control reviews to ensure monitoring, backups, and alerts are functioning as expected.
• Contribute to incident response as a first responder and playbook executor.
• Support compliance efforts by providing technical evidence for audits and working with our vCISO.
• Document and communicate changes so that the wider team understands new security processes.
• Continuously learn about cybersecurity and security threats and improve your skills and company practices around cybersecurity

Requirements - What We’re Looking For 

• 3–6 years of experience in security engineering, SecOps, or related technical/IT roles
• Hands-on experience with at least some of the following:
  • SIEM tools (Splunk, Sentinel, Wazuh, Elastic, etc.)
  • EDR/XDR solutions (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, etc.)
  • Email security (Proofpoint, Mimecast, DKIM/DMARC/SPF)
  • IAM and cloud security (AWS IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Kubernetes security basics)
• Ability to deploy and configure security tools (not just “use them”)
• Strong project ownership skills: you can drive a project from definition to rollout.
• Comfortable working in a startup environment: resourceful, pragmatic, willing to take charge and learn as you go
